It is my joy and honor to welcome you to the website of our wonderful church! Here I hope you will find out a little bit more about this great body and the ministries it has available.
At First Baptist Church, Lillian we are all about making effective disciples for Jesus. We do this by equipping our people to “worship, connect, grow, serve, and tell”. Everything we do is geared toward one or more of those tenets of our mission statement.
We have an amazing worship service on Sunday morning that not only takes you to the throne of God but gives you tools for how to live for Him throughout the week. We have wonderful Bible studies on Sunday morning and applicable discipleship classes on Sunday night designed to meet you on whatever level you’re at with your relationship with Jesus.
And we are a servant church. We have a Mission Outreach Center on campus complete with a fully stocked food pantry and clothes closet. In the very near future, we will be opening a counseling center in conjunction with other area churches. We also look for ways to meet people’s needs in our community. We participate in “Rescue Alvarado” with is an event that includes food and clothing giveaways to the people in our area. We also have done “Thanksgiving in the Homesteads” which is similar in nature and we have an annual dinner on Christmas day for the community.
Our youth ministry is like none you’ve ever seen. We have a solid group of teens who really want to be consumed with the love of Christ and it shows in all their actions and attitudes. If you’re a teenager looking to find out if this “Jesus stuff” is real, this is the place to be.
Our children’s ministry is constantly hopping. We have great classes on Sunday night, an awesome Sunday morning time for them, a great Children’s Church, and a soon to start Wednesday night discipleship program. We go to pre-teen camp every year and have one of the best Vacation Bible School’s in town.
I tell people that I want to be very accessible. Please feel free to email me. I’d love to hear from
Pastor Rick Hope
